Quá trình tinh chế protein coi trọng các đặc tính của protein như chức năng, cấu trúc và sự tương tác. Trong số các công nghệ tinh chế protein khác nhau, sắc ký ái lực (affinity chromatography) là phương pháp quan trọng và mạnh mẽ nhất vì nó có thể mang lại độ chọn lọc, độ phân giải và công suất cao cho các protein mục tiêu.
